Description:
Crawley motor plough, Model OM3, three furrow, by Crawley Agrimotor Co., Saffron Walden, Essex, Serial No. 13040, c. 1919. Engine: Serial No. 43994, 30 hp 4-cylinder side valve petrol. The well known Suffolk agricultural engineering company, Garretts of Leiston, made the first three for the Crawley Brothers in 1913-1914, but thereafter the Crawleys opened a small factory which continued in production until 1924. The machine failed in the face of competition from Fordson as did so many others.
